Fascism on the Rise
Traders Moon Ceremony, November 14, 2016
After a bountiful Traders moon feast, we gather here, nine devoted women, under this the Supermoon, which is casting a powerful healing light upon our wounded planet. Before we call upon our ancestors to join us, we light these purple candles to carry tonight. These purple candles are lit with the intention of healing, burned with the intention of healing, and at the end, when the candles burn out, their smoke is carried to the wind with the intention of healing. The energy of these candles will scatter to all corners of the planet.
The healing candles are lit tonight by the power of the gathered women to wink back at the moon, in conspiracy, to pour forth and magnify the moon’s healing energy, combined with our healing energy, unleashed tonight upon Mother Earth and her people.
The women light their purple candles and repeat after Sister Kate:
Purple is the Color of Suffering.
Purple is the Color of the Occupy Movement.
Purple is the Color that you get when you mix the colors of the two-party, bipolar, political system.
We are living through some horrible times. Our government, in the past week, has officially been taken over by a right-wing faction that wishes to turn back the hands of social progress. Especially under attack are minorities and women. And it isn’t happening just here. It has been happening many places, the Philippines, France, England.
The elections here offered the people few choices, and sadly, it was arranged that way. Someone thought this to be a good idea. At the end – for the American people, it came down to choosing between civil war and world war. We are now in a civil war and might consider the blessing that the international American war machine, at least for now, has been disrupted. But our countrymen are clearly upset. Our new president is appointing known warmongers, so the international peace is unlikely to be short-lived. In addition, at home our people have been traumatized by the election of a proud people-hater, an uncontrite planet-hating, woman-hating, megalomaniac.
And though all the healing women around the planet are appalled at the outcome of our election, although all of them are reeling from this turn of the country from red to redder, we must remember that not all people who voted for Trump are bigots. Nearly half of them voted for him in protest, voted against the war machine, against the oligarchy. They are confused, clearly, because Trump is not against the corporate oligarchy and those who were looking for him to lead them back to 1954 will be sadly disappointed. And we, as healers, are sadly disappointed that people are so hurt that they want to go back there.
The reason the protests have erupted is because it is unnatural for people to go backward. It is unnatural for a child to finish the eighth grade and then go back to the fifth. It is unnatural for a grown adult, completely independent for a decade, to suddenly move back in with mom and forget how to cook or do laundry. It is unnatural for a mother to make her child sick. It is unnatural for a people to make their planet inhabitable. It is unnatural to gain LGBT tolerance and freedoms, in order to take that away. It is unnatural to regulate the vaginas of women. It is unnatural to make large profits out of sickness, learning and death. It is unnatural to tax the people but not the corporations. It is unnatural to put debt on the backs of our children, for them to find a means of sustenance.
Therefore, our Brothers and Sisters are protesting. Our new government represents a set of ideals that are not natural. They are not in synch with nature, nor with natural human development. We must be very proud of our Brothers and Sisters out there peacefully protesting. We must honor them and support them.
And most importantly, we must let the world and our fellow Americans know that we, the healing women of the planet, do not stand by those who spew bigotry, misogyny, white supremacy, intolerance, sexism, racism, or xenophobia.
We ask for a special blessing, Mother Goddess, for the protestors who are proving to the world that America is NOT a nation made up of bigots and haters. We ask for a special healing blessing for the victims of this backward thinking.
