Rooted in Tradition. Led by Women. Open to All.
Who are the Sisters of the Valley?
We are humble farm women, who trust the women to make decisions about their own bodies.
We are spiritual to connect to our ancestors and our Creator.
We are serious women on a serious mission.
We are committed to lives in Service. We are preservationists who want the planet and all its gifts to be there for the generations following us.
We value less words, and more thoughtful contemplation.
We do not rush. We cannot be rushed. We do not respond to rushed activity. It is seen as a failure to plan properly.
We do not mix missions; we strive not to dilute our focus, especially when on public missions.
We do not respond well to bullying energies, trickery, or hidden information, motives, intentions (no surprise rule).
We do not ‘join’ the Sisterhood, we are called.
We organize our lives by the cycles of the moon to align with the divine feminine energies of the life-giving earth plane and our ancient life-giving mothers.
We believe that meditation is more empowering than prayer. Manifestation is the most powerful outcome of meditation.
The uniform is a daily meditation in being in touch with our ancient ancestors; it is our regalia, announcing to our tribe that we are serious, chaste, dedicated people of the plant medicine.
The uniform keeps the hair out of the way when we work, in the same manner it did for our ancient mothers. The uniform binds us and reminds us to set down our individuality for a moment and be one with the tribe.
We wear the gowns to honor our ancient Beguine foremothers and to show respect for the plant and Mother Earth. We cover ourselves modestly to connect us to the same healing energy of our ancient Bougienages.
We value harmony and trouble resolution skills above all else and seek to be an example to others in that regard.
